Stauros Skourtis WoodworksLogo Design
Logo proposals for GRAN Caffè Italiano, a café with an Italian character. The aim was a mark that recalls the old Italian cafés, with prestige but without heaviness. I designed several directions: a crown above the name, a large G inside a wreath, a frame or a crest, and a G that rises like a tower behind the word. The most complete version places a gold crown above GRAN, set in a high-contrast typeface where the leg of the R ends in a curl. The name is in burgundy, with the year 1998 split on either side and Caffè Italiano in gold below. I tested every proposal on a mug, a façade, a wrought iron hanging sign and a shop window, to see how it holds up in real use.
It is a proposal with several logo directions that was never put into use, but it shows how I test every idea on real applications before we settle. I work from Corinth for businesses across Greece. If you want a logo for your own café or restaurant, get in touch.
